Create your own virtual reading room. The first 200 radiologists to sign up will be part of the platform development team. As part of the team, your input will shape the design and functionality of the platform.

This is your product to develop and shape into a tool that you want to use. Let’s create something that will leave us wondering what we ever did without it.

If you could create your own social network, what would it look like? You’d probably want more than an online community of radiologists discussing cases. Let’s plan some live events and create the camaraderie and support where we need it.

It doesn’t need to be limited to just groups within medicine. Invite who you want, where you want. Let’s boost our own morale and develop a sense of community so that we can be more effective and fulfilled both personally and professionally.

Recruit and Retain

As a 501(c)3 entity, The Reading Room offers a novel pathway towards attainment of Public Student Loan Forgiveness. Radiologists are needed in underserved and rural locations. However, the majority of practice settings that service these remote regions, such as private practices, locum tenens and teleradiology practices, are not eligible for Public Student Loan Forgiveness as they are not 501(c)3 organizations.

In contrast, the majority of academic centers are 501(c)3 organizations, and these centers are predominantly located in urban settings.

To help resolve this disparity, the reading room collaborates with radiology practices that service remote settings, offering a novel pathway towards attainment of Public Student Loan Forgiveness.

This pathway provides radiologists the opportunity to be involved in the research and development of AI solutions which will be implemented on the platform. These solutions will focus on image interpretation to improve patient care.

What is The Reading Room

The platform relies on the benefits of crowdsourcing to review questions and cases. For example, if you feel less confident reading a particular subspecialty, such as a Neuro studies, the platform provides immediate access to all participating Neuroradiologists. The idea is to reduce working in isolation by connecting radiologists, similar to reading together in a large reading room. In doing so, we can increase our efficiency and diagnostic confidence.

In order to aid with HIPPA compliance and to take our ego out of the equation, board-certified radiologists will be anonymized by creating user names. The goal is to promote inquisition without fear of judgment and to generate advice that is concise and to the point without the need for attention or validation. Questions may pertain to particular cases, imaging protocols, treatment and recommendation guidelines…whatever is on your mind.
